In 1868, Joseph Vale received his initial patent for a 10-foot rotary oven. The following year, Vale relocated his rotary oven production to Chicago, Illinois, bringing A.J. Fish with him. Fish was a passionate brick mason who later became the owner of FISH Rotary Oven. The first FISH Rotary Oven was constructed in 1874, predating the invention of the telephone by Alexander Graham Bell by two years.
